Samuel H. Yun, MD

Dr. Samuel Yun is a fellowship-trained specialist in vitreoretinal surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry with Distinction from University of Virginia. He then earned his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at the Yale New Haven Hospital where he received the Marvin L. Sears award for Clinical Excellence. He continued his training in vitreoretina surgery at West Virginia University Eye Institute where he became familiar with complex vitreoretina surgical procedures. He participated in a variety of national clinical studies as a co-investigator during his fellowship training.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at multiple international meetings such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS) and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). During his free time, Dr. Yun enjoys spending his time with his wife and family.
